“Small, but significant” Dallas Conference advances EFAC-USA goals

The Rt. Rev. George Sumner, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, preached at a service of morning prayer at All Saints Dallas during EFAC-USA’s annual conference on Thursday, October 21.

Sumner was welcomed by All Saints rector, Phillip Jones. Jones is also the Lead Bishop of the Anglican Mission in America.

“That was a small, but significant moment, to hear a TEC bishop preaching in an AMiA church,” Zac Neubauer, EFAC-USA president, said. “It really captured what EFAC-USA is, and wants to be.”

Sumner preached on the requirement for evangelicals to “pass the baton” of the gospel they have received to the next generation of Anglicans.

The three-day annual conference was hosted by All Saints Dallas, in Dallas, Texas, October 20-23, 2021.

The conference focused on evangelism, and featured keynote addresses from Glen Scrivener, Ashley Null, and Carrie Boren Headington.

This was the first in-person EFAC-USA conference since 2019, and lingering concerns about the pandemic pushed the conference dates from June to October.

Planning is underway for next year’s conference in June in Nashville, Tennessee.
